PNG, JPG, WebP. Click a box to cycle dot, dash and ignore. Crop complex backgrounds first.

1 · Prepare the Morse area

Crop around the printed marks in your image editor before importing. Keep the marks upright and preserve the spaces between letter groups.

2 · Inspect the detected shapes

Use threshold and color inversion if necessary, then recognize again. Click a box to cycle dot, dash and ignore; add a missed dot manually.

3 · Correct the gaps

Set the gap after a selected mark to none, letter or word when the automatic grouping is wrong. Review the text before copying or downloading it.

Shape detection needs a clear background

The image tool groups visible shapes by geometry. Dark dots and dashes on a clean, light background are easier to inspect than decorative lettering, textured paper or touching marks. For light marks on a dark background, try inversion. Adjusting the threshold changes which pixels count as marks; run recognition again to apply it.

Correct spacing as well as dots and dashes

A correct set of shapes can still produce the wrong text if two letters are joined. Select the mark before the missing boundary and set a letter gap. Use a word gap between words. Decorative specks can be ignored, and Undo can reverse a mistaken edit. A new recognition pass replaces the detected boxes, so finish threshold adjustments before detailed manual corrections.

One shape sequence, two readings

.- = A . - = ET

A dot followed by a dash forms A when they belong to one letter. A letter gap between them produces E and T. If the picture is clear but the result is wrong, inspect the gap after the dot before changing either shape.

Questions before you start

Can it read handwritten or decorative Morse?

It may need substantial correction when marks touch, rotate or merge into the background. Start with a cropped, clear image; it is not a general handwriting reader and does not promise to recognize every design.

How large can an image be?

Choose a file smaller than 20 MB. Large images are scaled to a maximum dimension of 1,400 pixels for processing, so crop irrelevant areas first to preserve useful mark detail.

Can it translate flashing lights or ordinary text in a photo?

No. This tool interprets visible Morse dots and dashes in a still image. It does not analyze flash timing or turn ordinary printed sentences into Morse through OCR.
